Better sleeps. That's incredible. Deep, deep, deep sleeps now. And sleep for me has always been a challenge. I remember you telling me something it is the biggest part of what I've always tried to work on was my sleep, and that helped with weight loss. Workout-wise, I haven't changed. That's amazing. I still do the exact same workouts. Yes, I go to the gym, yes. So what do I do at the gym? I do cycling. Yes, I do yoga. Yes, I do HIIT classes. I do some CrossFit. I've just started incorporating CrossFit back into my life.

Speaker 1:Cigars are wonderful, yeah, they're beautiful, especially now I'm here in Florida. Ah, are wonderful, yeah, especially now I'm here in florida. Ah, in the humidity. I always find a cigar better tasting in humid and warmer yes countries, because when it's winter time up in the great white north, I don't want a cigar, it's like my body just turns off. Yeah, I don't want that, but you're here in the sun, I do. I enjoy it.
Speaker 1:I started smoking cigars when I first went to Cuba back in 2000. Dave, these new shirts. Did you notice those shirts that Dave's wearing? Looks pretty good, eh, a little R1. A little promo there, testing out a white shirt. Sorry, sorry, everyone, you're ruined by cigars. That's okay.
Speaker 1:Cigar story Some back in the dinosaur era. There's a slight age difference. Everyone. Just you know it's max edwin, whatever. Yeah, I still I'm unsure who max edwin is. You gotta go back 20, 30 episodes. We're gonna have to link it.
Speaker 1:I first started smoking cigars when I went to cuba and my wife took me to cuba. It wasn't my wife at the time, but we were dating and she took me to cuba. Yeah, and I fell in love with cigars. I went to cigar factory there, oh, went on a trip, had my one of my first cigars there and it was golden. Yeah, it was such a nice experience. Yeah, I have a cuban coffee yep with a cuban cigar. The cuba robusto is my favorite cigars out there. It was such a nice experience. Yeah, I have a cuba coffee yep with a cuban cigar.
Speaker 1:The cuba robusto is my favorite cigars out there is the best ring size in my opinion. It's, uh, the same size of robusto. For those who don't know cigars, robusto is the ring size, meaning the diameter of the cigar, um, also, the length of it then changes as well. Most Robustos are smaller cigar. You can get through it within 45 minutes to an hour. Churchill cigars are same diameter as a Robusto, but they're longer. But the Robusto is my favorite cigar to smoke. It's not, it's not. You're not going to spend hours and hours and hours smoking it. It's a good smoke. You enjoy it and you put it down. Then you get into different flavors. Oh yeah, different profiles. Just go down. It's like wine almost, but I fell in love with the Cohiba. Robusta was my cigar. And just that weather, though. Yes, it's the warmth, smoking a cigar in warm weather. Yes, there's something about it.
Speaker 1:I've started putting some stuff on my instagram and I started this a year ago, but things changed to get our business open. So I want to make sure we do an episode on this, because there's a whole bunch. Yeah, to roll or unroll, oh, I don't know. There's a lot, there's a lot on it. So, um dave. Yes, we had a train of thought and it was cigars.
Speaker 1:Here we are, but I think I almost don't recognize this man. I hadn't seen him for eight months and I'm like, was this Dave B Moskowitz or Dave A Moskowitz? And I think it's the better version. B Moskowitz, I definitely feel better. You feel better. You look incredible, thank you. You're not just, you know, doing a certain what's that thing? There's something that's being here Ozempic.
Speaker 1:I am not on the Ozempic train. It's fairly common now. There's people's willpower. People could say people who don't know me, who don't see me, yes, might say that I would have jumped on. Because it's funny, because I jumped on. I'm gonna get into why, how I got I lost weight and how I look different now, but it's it's interesting timing wise.
Speaker 1:I started it around the same time that ozempic started hitting all the shelves, the shelves and it started getting popular. So I could. Technically, I've been doing emsetic, but I'm I'm 100, not, and anyone who's in my inner circle knows that I'm not yeah, um, but yeah, I decided to do a life change. Okay, I have for the last 40 years of my life yeah, you know, maybe not 40 years, so let's say the last 30 some odd years of my life. I've been always a heavier person.
Speaker 1:Yes, I was husky, as they call it, growing up With a TCCCC. Yeah, yeah, I the. You know. It's funny when you're a young kid. This will always stick in the back of my mind. I had to go and buy husky clothing. Yeah, actually, I don't know if they do that anymore. They don't do, don't they label kids clothing as husky? Yeah, right, because I was bigger and I was always overweight and heavier and I just didn't know how to eat properly.
Speaker 1:I came from a jewish household. I was raised by european father, who was in turn raised by Europeans, who was told to clean your plate, oh, yes. And I was told sit down at the dinner table and clean your plate. Yes, he chose my portions, he chose what type of food I eat and I ate it. I didn't know why he was my father and I'm not blaming my father for this. This is definitely not blaming my father, but it didn't set me I would use my father, I ate and I'm not blaming my father for this. This is definitely not blaming my father, but it didn't set me up for success, because I then led the rest of my life in. Finish my plate that drink, finish my plate, finish my plate.
Speaker 1:I then fell in love with food. Some people don't fall in love. I want a second plate. Right, right, is there any leftovers? Right, pile me up. So I ate, ate, ate, ate, ate, and I would always eat more portion, more calories than I should, and then just the weight comes on.
Speaker 1:And then you know, let's fast forward to about a decade ago, over 10 years, 15 years. Let's, let's fast forward. I ballooned Stress eater, depression eater. Yes, just eat food. I love food, I enjoy food, I, I, I take a lot of pleasure in food. So to me, it was my metabolism, not fast, yeah, blessed with a slow metabolism, yeah, however, that we were talking about that and I put, put on I look at a slice of bread, put on the weight, put on the weight. And I've always had a belly my whole life. I've never, even when I did lose weight, to get into law enforcement because I had to get into shape and ride, yeah, I got into. I always had about. Even even in those days, I had a belly and I've always had a belly my whole life. So, fast forward. Ups and downs. Diet I tried every bad diet the low carb, the high, the high protein, the paleo, paleo, the keto, yeah, the uh, what was around for some of these things that I knew you were doing now?
Speaker 1:Weight watchers, um, the fad. I've tried them all. Yeah, I've tried every single. There isn't one I haven't tried. Yeah, but I could never find a rhythm. Yeah, I can never find something that would. You just fell into place. Yeah, yeah, something that I was like I can do when I'm stressed, I can do when I'm nervous, I could do when I'm sad, I could do when I'm happy, I could. There was nothing. Nothing. Nothing Because and I know that, because I would go up and down, up and down, up and down. I ballooned up to 320 pounds of my heaviest. Wow, I went down at my lowest to 220 pounds at one point. I've gone up and down hundreds of pounds. It's never been lasting.
Speaker 1:Some people might look at me right now and say, well, you're just going up and down. I think the difference between now and everything else I've done I finally have heard and listened to myself and and my mentality about it has changed, and I've also found something, and I've been doing it for six months now I found something that I can do when I'm stressed. I found something I can do when I'm tired. I found something that I can do when I'm on vacation yes, and I found something I can do when I'm happy yes, and all of those together with whatever emotion that I'm going through, whatever time that I'm going through, whatever I'm doing with my lifestyle and how I run my world. Now it works for me, yes, and because of that, I've been able to keep it for at least six months now. My goal is to continue with this forever. I don't want to go back. So this is the mindset show and I want to take a step back.
Speaker 1:When you look back at all those you know, fad diets that did, there was obviously from what I'm hearing something the mindset that you just gave up. Right, was it the frustration and not seeing results? Was it the disappointment and not feeling fulfilled through that particular program you were doing? What was that mindset Like? I think it's the mindset, but why was that changing? You know what it is. There's just actually, you know, to come back a little bit Because of the commitment, yeah, there is a thing out there called Noob.
Speaker 1:I don't know if you've ever heard about it. Noob, noob, noob, n-o-o-o-m, n-o-o-m, walk me, walk me through it. It's an app that you download on your phone and what it is? It's a mindset change. It's a diet app, but they sell it as a diet app, but it's a change in your mindset. It's reprogramming the way your brain thinks about things, and the mindset that I was going in that would cause me to fail was a couple things, a whole bunch of things.
Speaker 1:A, I would reward myself way too early, so I would lose 10 pounds. Boom, have a slice of a chocolate cake, right, yeah, I would, uh, diet for two months straight. Reward myself after oh, I've done such a good job, I'm giving myself a reward. Just doing your body's probably making those physical changes, yeah. So then I was oh my god, I lost 30 pounds. I can go eat a big pizza now, yeah, right. Or I'm working out like crazy seven days a week at the gym. I can reward myself by having, by having an old-fashioned right, I can, I can reward myself.
Speaker 1:But what that mentality was, that was running, amer, getting one hour in and then walking. You rewarded yourself with running. Oh, I ran the marathon. Analogy right, you're not getting to the end. When you get to the end, that's when you reward yourself, picking goals and actually sticking to them. I didn't do that. I didn't do that along the way.
Speaker 1:The other things I would do is because I rewarded myself too early. I then felt it okay then to continuously reward myself over and over again. So then I'd be like okay, I rewarded myself today, I had a cheat day. Right, the cheat day is probably the worst thing I could ever do to myself for me. Yeah, some people can handle it, I can't. So it's something I took out of my, my vocabulary. I do not have cheat days anymore. That brought me down the hole of going back to the same way that I was before and indulgent, because then I'd be like oh, I'm going to all week of Monday, all day, it'd be good. Sunday I'm going to have a cheat day like Dwayne the Rock, johnson yeah, it's true. And then I'm going to hit a big guy.
Speaker 1:People don't understand. They watch Dwayne the Rock and he has those cheat days, but they don't understand that that man works crazy hard in the gym and has the ability to burn the calories that he ate that night and doesn't repeat that amount of calories and is on a strict diet outside of those calories. Most people don't have the time that he has to spend in the gym all the time, yeah, and burn all those calories and then have the strict diet, yeah, right on top of it. So those cheat days for me ruined all the progress I made all week. So there's a gentleman called body by mark on instagram. Yeah, love, body by mark, mainly new york city based downtown. Uh, he'll show up in miami on south beach and all he does he walks around and if he sees people who are jacked, he'll literally go bro, you're jacked.
Speaker 1:Yeah, tell me, you know, what do you do in the gym? What's your diet like? Do you have blah, blah anyways? But what thing I always see for certain people is the weekends. They let themselves go, right, it works for certain people. But I was always surprised going my god, that's a physique of 10 years or six years or four years, and the weekends are like whatever. Yeah, or people go out of track.
Speaker 1:What I eat, yeah, but not everyone's like that, and I think that's what goes back to earlier conversation today in the car ride. Is not everyone's bodies like that? Right, I'm in it, no more, I'm a big bone, thick boy, but I'm freaking strong at the gym and I'm sure you're the same. You see the scrawny guys. I think we've talked about this on podcast. The scrawny guy is like, bro, I wish you had your legs. I'm like, yeah, but I wish I looked like you. But these are our genetic makeups. But at the same time, not everyone can be like that to go. I don't want a cheat day. Yeah. So you've made that disciplined decision. We're not doing that. Yeah.
Speaker 1:So coming into march of this year, yes, um, my wife comes to me and says we need to lose some weight. I said all, all, right, let's do it. What do you want to do? This is the conversation we've had for years Bad diets, bad diets, bad diets, right. So she comes to me. She said I said let's do it, let's, let's figure out something. Let's change her style, right. So she says let's do carnivore diet.
Speaker 1:I was like what's carnivore diet? I have no idea. So I'm like I'll do some research. So I dive into the world of the internet. I dive into the world of research. I research to the end of the internet because I'm not going to just do something, I'm going to find out exactly what it's all about. That's just my nature.
Speaker 1:So I dive into the world and I was like this is interesting. There's a whole world of people who follow this lifestyle. There's varying degrees of it and the reason there's varying degrees of it because everybody's body's different, correct, and I was very intrigued about it it goes. A lot of it goes against a lot of nutritional information that you would have heard for years. It's the opposite of it. They've related to certain things. So in the world of the internet, you don't know what to believe, you don't know who to believe, but I said I'll dive into it, I'll give it a try. What's another diet for me? What's another fad diet? Right? So I dive into it and what the carnivore is, the basis of it, and there's so many different variations, there's so many different explanations on what you can do, what you can't do.
Speaker 1:Ultimately, what it comes down to you need to eat the food for your own body that your body accepts and your body's good at producing and getting through and eating and exiting your body, and that makes you feel good. I think, at the end of the day, that's what everyone needs to do. Is they need to find foods, whether it be plant-based, meat-based, bug-based or water-based. Yes, you need to find something that agrees with your system and your own system is going to tell you yes, right, not to get too graphic here, but you eat something and you have loose stool, yes, your system's telling you, yes, don't eat that. Yes, if you, if you eat something and you're crashing blood sugar level, yes, if your body's saying to you don't eat that. If you're bloating, if you're all these kinds of things that are happening, you eat a piece of chocolate and you break out, your body saying don't eat that. Yeah, you eat some, a vegetable and you have gas, yeah, your body saying don't eat that. So there's, there's certain things that your body, people just don't listen to their body. So one thing that's forced me to do is actually realize and listen to my body more so.
Speaker 1:So the carnivore diet what it is the simplest way to put it is proteins yes, high fat, yes, that's it, that's it, nothing else. So, proteins, what's proteins? Poultry, fish, meat, red meat, yeah, pork, high fat, animal-based Animal-based meats, gotcha, animal-based meats. And then I, uh, high fats, animal based, animal based meats, gotcha, animal based meats. And then I also incorporate for me, I incorporate probiotics. So I uh yogurt, yogurt, greek yogurt, greek yogurt, plain greek yogurt. Um, high protein and so that I have um probiotics in my stomach to help break down the meats and the enzymes. I incorporate magnesium Delicious. I incorporate salt, yes, and I incorporate potassium every single day, first thing in the morning. The other thing I have is lots of water, so water on top of all that. So that's my food and that's all I eat. That's it, nothing else, nothing else. All that, so that's my food and that's all I eat. That's it, nothing else, nothing else.
Speaker 1:The other things I've done to accelerate my fat loss because I've lost up to this point. I've lost over 60 pounds. That is incredible. Since march, he looks like a whole different person. Wait till you see him in front of you. Um, so, which has been great. Yes, there's been some benefits of it. I've noticed new clothing, a ton of new clothing, which which I don't particularly like because you keep going down and keep on going down. So even I'll buy some clothing and like, three weeks later, I need, I'm just too big on me, right, good, well, so which is? Which is a good, but it's a problem, right? Yeah, um, so I've noticed my clothing size has gone down.
Speaker 1:My joints I have no more joint pain interesting, uh, I have. I have muscle pain from working out still, but I used to have joint pain because of, a the weight that I was carrying on them and, b the food potentially, yes, causing inflammation. Yes, so I, I have less inflammation in my body. That's incredible, compared to when I was eating everything else. So you know where I started hearing a lot about the carnivore diet and the pain on joints and the inflammation was Jordan Peterson. Yeah, and I don't remember if it was on a Joe Rogan show I hadn't listened to it, but there was a clip that had come from one of those two places and basically he went on how it became a whole change for him because he was suffering from a lot of joint pain. And then, as I start going into it, there's another gentleman that you shared with them, mr. I don't give a rip. Yeah, phenomenal. I can't remember who he is, but he's also talked about that and anybody. Then, as I tune in, it's the inflammation, the joint pain. You know there's something here. Yeah, there's something in this carnivore lifestyle that is, it's it.
Speaker 1:I have also suffered since I was very young, eczema, yes, yeah, and I used to call it eczema and I someone recently corrected me I, all my life I've been calling it eczema, but it's eczema is what? What? The pronouncing tomato, tomato, right. So I've always suffered from it. On my on my hand here you can see it's discolored. That's permanently discolored because of my eczema. Yeah, on my knee, see this little spot here that's going away eventually. So I've had those go away. So my dry skin is leaving. The eczema is leaving me Better sleeps.
Speaker 1:That's incredible. Deep, deep, deep sleeps now, and sleep for me has always been a challenge. I remember you telling me some of these. It is the biggest part of what I've always tried to work on was my sleep, and that helped with weight loss. Sleeping is where your body weight and that fat disappears. People understand that if you don't have deep, quality sleep, you're not losing weight. Period, you're not gonna lose weight. That's fair. That's the first I've heard. That's incredible. So my sleeps are amazing. I am. I have a clear mind. Yes, I'm working all day.
Speaker 1:The one thing I said to you today, which you said you didn't have, which is awesome um, I, I don't get cravings. Yes, I don't have hunger pains. A lot of people get those hunger pains. Yeah, and I think hunger pains. In my opinion, hunger pains and this is medical. No, I'm not talking about this is your personal experience. Don't quote me. I'm not a doctor. This is just how I feel and what I'm going through for my body. Um, a lot of people get hunger pains and I think it's because the blood sugar level yes, in my opinion, yes, I don't have spikes, ebbs and flows to my blood sugar anymore. I don't have high or lows my blood sugar, I feel, and I haven't done a blood test. I'm going to this is going back to toronto. Actually, I made an appointment. I'm going to be getting a full blood examination because I think it's important to, because I'm going through this to see what my levels are, as long as they're still healthy, right, make sure my cholesterol is not too high, that's one thing. That's not killer, right? Um, because I am eating stuff like a stick of butter. Yeah, right, I'll literally have a stick of butter and eat it.
Speaker 1:Salt, all that kind of stuff that everyone my whole life has said. But every but every my whole life, I said don't eat, don't eat butter. I grew up on margarine. Yeah, that's plastic, right? Yeah, I grew up on margarine. I'd rather eat the stone butter. It's gonna make you fat. Eat margarine. No, you need, that's how I grew up but you need the fat. Don't eat salt. It's an animal source, but you need salt, but don't eat salt. You need like. These are things I had thought out of my life for so long Because we've been told that, yeah, and now I'm just, I'm totally in it.
Speaker 1:So I want to dive to the salt train. So this is not pop, by the way, this is soda, carbonated water, soda. So we're in America, we call it soda, again, salt. So the last three years we have been at our house on a change. We do our own research, we look at our own stuff and, growing up, same thing no butter, yeah, no salt, we don't need these things. And then you realize, no, you need salt, you need to be eating butter. These are animal-based fats and salts. We're talking like himalayan or a place in utah, ancient, like redmond. It's a real salt and people forget that. When you sweat, you exert energy, your body is depleting the, but it needs the salt to retain the water to to keep everything together for you.
Speaker 1:There was a period in my policing days where I was constantly in headaches and it would be like spiking migraines, whatever, and it was around that point when I discovered you need to be taking salt we're not talking table salt, that's. That's like almost carcinogenic redefined process. Do you need natural, natural salts? And we literally have put it into all of our salt grinders to a fine powder and we twist into our water to taste to our level of taste that we like. Ever since I've done that, these headaches have disappeared.
Speaker 1:Uh, it's because going to the gym, running, walking, you're you're are you staying hydrated? Do you have enough levels of those sodium, that's salt, in your body? I'm telling people, do your own findings. I know it works, but it has been revolutionary and we swear by it and we have converted people into doing this before. But you brought that up and I'm like I got to tell people you need to look at this Himalayan or like real earth salts, not your white salts. So I I treat myself.
Speaker 1:I I purchased a company called element L M N T, letter L M N T. You can buy them online in the state you can buy them at specific location Canada. You can only get online in the state you can buy them at specifically in canada. You can only get it online mostly, unless the reseller is reselling it, but it comes in different flavors. Very low calories, it's flavored naturally. Um, so I treat myself every morning with that. They come in crazy awesome flavors citrus lime you told me about this, I gotta look through watermelon something so that's what I have every morning.
Speaker 1:Start my day off yes, electrolytes. Electrolytes, so you get your potassium in there. It's mixed, it's a mixture, it's a specific mixture, so you have all three of them in there, and that's why I still do the exact same workouts. Yes, I go to the gym. Yes, so what do I do at the gym? I do cycling. Yes, I do yoga. Yes, I do HIIT classes. Yes, I do some CrossFit. I've just started incorporating CrossFit back into my life. I do walks, yes, I go ice baths, saunas. I go stretching at Stretch Lab yeah, there you go. Cairo appointments at Mobility House.
Speaker 1:So I've incorporated the wellness industry plus my fitness, which the fitness aspect really hasn't changed. It's everything outside of the fitness that I'm changing, because even when I was heavier, I was still working out. I was just eating too much of not the right food, of course, the quality of foods. So the other thing on top of all this, because I really wanted to accelerate my weight loss a bit because I feel that the diet is good, but I've also incorporated something else which I'm loving and it's good for me, it's good for my lifestyle yeah, two things.
Speaker 1:So I fast intermittent, intermittent fast every single day. Yes, I, I fast for 21 hours a day, wow, and I eat for three hours of those days. Yes, do I eat three hours straight? No, sometimes I snack in between those those specific three hours, but that's my time period, so it's it's generally the same time every single day. I keep it very standard. So from 4 pm to 7 pm is when I eat. I'll have maybe a snack or two, have dinner, maybe some yogurt to finish off the night between those three hours, and that's it. I only eat within that period of time. I don't eat before, I don't eat after. That's incredible. I do that every day. Also, once a month this is the part that people are finding crazy yes, but once a month I do a prolonged fast.
Speaker 1:So back in March I started with the 24 hour. Yeah, april, I did 48 hours Impressive. May, I did 72 hours Incredible. Um June, I did uh hours impressive may, I did 72 hours. Incredible. Um june, I did uh, seven days. Okay. Um, that's impressive and I'm not going to go beyond seven days.
Speaker 1:Uh, let's take a dive into what, where you have been during the fasting, because I know some people they'll do like diet sodas right, they'll incorporate black coffee or herbal teas or just water. What, what are? What have you done that works best for you? Yeah, so what I did is, uh, I'll have one of those uh elements, yeah, every day, but I use the unflavored ones. Oh, wow, because there's zero calories. Okay, I got you.
Speaker 1:So the in following the carnivore world, I then started following somebody who does something called rolling fast and refeeds, and he's dropped over 150 pounds. That's incredible. And what he does is he eats for a certain amount of hours and then fast for certain hours, and he continues that over and over and over again. Wow. So I said I don't really want to follow that kind of lifestyle. I don't want to be constantly fasting every, every single like for a long fast, so I'm like let me do it once a month to spike my system and give my system a break. So the one thing that I did realize, though, is if you have never fasted before, and true fast, so my true fast. I know, coffee, just water, it's, it's potassium, salt and magnesium every day, unflavored, zero calories and lots of water all day. So I did that, that's my fast, that's what I do and eat for my fast.
Speaker 1:But the one thing we don't do unless you've done something like that, you've never given your body a break from breaking down stuff. Gotcha, your heart has never stopped Correct Working to break down food. Yes, your intestines have never stopped. Yes, your stomach has never stopped. You've never given your body, since you're born, you've never given your body a break. It's constantly going, it's constantly right because you eat and you break down. You eat and you break down, so your blood sugar goes up, goes down. You're breaking down. Your intestines are working, your stomach's working, your body doesn't need to do too much work just for water. And if you're just giving it water, which is what your body only needs to survive, right, it needs that kind of stuff salt, magnesium, potassium and eventually you'll need some substance.
Speaker 1:But seven days, they're saying now and when I say they, there's doctors out there who I've read who are saying that if you give your body seven days of a fast once a year, the cancer fighting properties are better for your system and your gut. Health heals everything in your body, your gut health. I really feel that I'm very passionate about that. I feel that it's really working for me. I felt amazing after that seven day, fast. So it's incredible.
Speaker 1:I wanted to do it for that purpose. I also wanted to do it for my mindset. I wanted to see, I wanted to see a if I could do it, the the one that I did before that was five days, was my longest before that and built up to the five days. And I said when I finished the five days, I said to myself I could have done two more days, 100. So then, when I did this earlier mindset, yeah, believing in yourself.
Speaker 1:So when I did the seven days, to me it was I was like I'm good, yeah, I'm good, I'm not hungry anymore, I'm not, I'm not dying to eat food. Yeah, I'm now eating food, and it's as a reward, every day within those three hours. Yes, and it tastes so much better. It's not incredible. The food, the flavors, the like taste buzzers, alive, yeah, right. And and I enjoy those three hours that I get to eat and then the rest of the time, I'm good, you're content, I'm happy, blissful. Yeah, I'm enjoying life. Yeah, wow, so, so I, I really, and that's why we titled this episode about breaking up with food, because I feel that I've broken the routine of me.
Speaker 1:Eating food that wasn't good for me wasn't good for my body, it wasn't good for my ability to live a longer life, yes, yes, and some people are going to look at this and say you're crazy. Some people are going to it wasn't good for my ability to live a longer life, yes, yes, and some people are going to look at this and say you're crazy. Some people are going to listen to this and say you're killing yourself. Some people are going to look at this and say amazing, awesome, I want to know more. Do what's best for you. That's what I'm saying. Do what's best for you.
Speaker 1:Find out your own ability to what you should eat. Yes, you shouldn't eat. Most people actually know this too right. They know that they shouldn't be eating a scoop of ice cream or people get jealous because they see other people succeed and I hate to say this, but in business, coming to a home country, here we are in the united states, we're operating businesses, and the amount of jealousy from people that are no longer in my friend's circle is insane. Yeah, you know, and you got to do what's best for you.
Speaker 1:Previously we've talked about you need to have your glass full. You can't be yourself and be selfish. You need to be selfish for yourself to do this for you, because look at what it's accomplished for you, yeah. Look at how it's changed you. You have to take care of yourself first, and this is what it's about. It's about me, yes, in my team. That's your story, yeah, and I'm enjoying it and I'm no.
Speaker 1:Nothing at this point is going to stop me from doing this. And I'll put a caveat because I'm I gave myself a year to try this and to see what I feel like at the end of this year. So, so, march of next year, I want to see what the results were. But I also need to see and, like I said, when I get back, I'm doing the blood test and I need to see all that. So I need to see how internally it's affecting me, because I know how externally I feel and I know sort of internally how I feel, right, because I know my stomach feels inside and you're in tune with the machine, you. But I'll know exactly if I'm doing any harm to myself once I do my blood test. Yes, as long as none of that is bad. If that comes back to me, then I'm going for this forever. Yeah, because I don't see myself going back. Good for you.
Speaker 1:There's no way, at this point, I could ever go back to that lifestyle, knowing that this is the direction that is making me healthier and live longer. So true, so I've broken up with the food that I had in the past. I love that. I'm okay to sit and watch someone eat a cake, that's okay. I'm okay to watch someone eat a pizza pie. I'm okay to sit here and allow people to indulge in food that makes them happy, because I know that the food I eat makes me happy. That's right. And I'm happy outside of this, and I'm happier for this for myself.

Maybe there's three simple things that you needed to do that made that change. One of them you're saying you were talking to your wife about it. Yeah, anything you want to share that made that change. One of them you're saying you were talking to your wife about it. Yeah, anything you want to share that could help somebody go.
Speaker 1:How do I kind of change my mindset? Yeah, because that people you know it's with business. You need to be stubborn to yourself, you need to be resilient, you need to push yourself, you have to listen here and people struggle with that. Yeah. So a couple things, a little life hack that I'll teach everyone. Don't tell anyone. You have to manifest things too. Yes, you actually need to tell people you're going to do something. You have to believe in it. Yes, and say it out loud, then it becomes real. If you don't just say it and do it, and tell people you're going to do it, it doesn't become real. But the caveat to all that you actually have to do it, because if you're going to say it out loud, people are going to expect that you do it. So a little trick that I've been doing my whole life, at least for the last 20, 30 years yeah, I've been telling people I'm going to do something, even before I knew I was going to do it. So I would say to people, for example, I'm this commerce that you have. I was looking at a pair yesterday. I'm going to buy them. Okay, even if I wasn't, I now because in my head I've said to myself I want that pair of sneakers you set in the mindset. I've set the mindset and now I'm going to go buy them for you. Maybe I won't go buy them tomorrow, but I'm going to buy them the next time I see them.
Speaker 1:But we've talked about these, these on our earlier episodes visualization, manifestation. Get the vision board. I did a whole episode on it because I just want to jump in. It works, it works, I. I don't think this is my opinion. You don't need to do one every year. Some people do. I think every five years is solid, because there are things on there that take time and when I look back at that board, I put together and we're not talking, you know, save an image on your phone and move it to a folder. No, no, start printing, cutting. Go to the dollar store, get your glue and scissors. I'm telling you, dave, there are things on that list I never, ever thought would come through. They've happened because I've been able to visualize. See, but visualization is also separate than the vision board, but they kind of tie in together. Yeah, so I've been doing that for a long time.
Speaker 1:So I tell people this thing for you. Don't tell anyone. I told you, but I do it. I do it because it's it's my way of making it real and putting it out there in the world and then holding me accountable. Yeah, so that's one thing you need to do for mindset. The other thing you need to do is explain to people around. So you're going to be doing this for yourself, yeah, so you need to actually get them to either buy in, yes, or accept the fact that you're going to be doing something different, that's out of the norm. That's great. So I had that conversation with people around me.
Speaker 1:The third thing you need to do make a plan and actually stick to it. You need to change your mindset. When it comes to that, you need to understand that you're going to hit walls in the process. There's going to be times where you're not going to see like, let's relate it back to my weight loss yes, there's weeks where I don't lose anything, yeah, and I'm stuck and nothing is happening. I'm not going up, I'm not going down, I'm just stuck. There was days where I did go up, weeks where I went, well, but it's. It's about being consistent. Yes, the big picture, the big picture, right, and it's the peaks and valleys. You got to get there. You're going to have to go through those. It really comes down, though, to a mindset change and being okay with yourself and the decisions that you made, and just accepting that and moving forward.
